This Privacy Policy explains how the Breadcrumbs Screenshot Capture & Editor Chrome extension and web application (the "Service") collect, use, and safeguard information. By installing or using the Service, you agree to these practices.
Information We Collect
Account and authentication
- Authentication token stored in the extension to keep you signed in.
- Email address, if your account provides it when you sign in.
Recording data you choose to capture
- Screenshots of the page you record (may contain page content and any visible personal data).
- Click details: CSS selectors, click coordinates, viewport size, and device pixel ratio.
- Step titles, annotations, and blur regions you add.
Local identifiers
- A locally generated session identifier to link your recording session.
We do not collect browsing history, keystrokes, or location data. Content is only captured from pages you explicitly record.
How We Use Information
- To create and sync your recordings and steps so you can view and edit them in the web app.
- To authenticate your account and keep your session active.
- To provide support and improve reliability (e.g., troubleshooting failed uploads).
Legal Basis
We process your information to perform the Service you request (recording and editing steps) and, where applicable, based on your consent when you start a recording or sign in.
Sharing
- Service providers that host or process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal compliance requests when required by law or to protect our rights or users.
- No sale of personal data and no third-party advertising or tracking scripts in the extension.
Retention
Authentication tokens are kept until you sign out or clear extension data. Recordings, steps, and screenshots are retained until you delete them or request deletion. We may keep minimal backup or audit copies where required by law or for legitimate business purposes, then delete or anonymize them.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections. Access to stored data is limited to authorized personnel and systems. No method is 100% secure, but we apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.
Your Choices
- Stop recording at any time in the extension; uninstalling the extension stops all collection.
- Delete recordings and steps in the web app; sign out to clear stored authentication tokens.
- Request data access or deletion using the contact information below.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us to remove it.
International Users
Data may be processed in the country where you live and in other countries where our service providers operate. These locations may have data protection laws different from your jurisdiction.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the Service before they take effect.
